Cost Engineer

• Entrepreneurial approach for evaluation, analysis and optimization of product and manufacturing cost in new development and series products in different commodities from the procurement side
• Cost Calculation with target costing approach for components and products from early project stage to series production to derive cost potential.
• Support purchasing in sourcing and negotiation.
• Establishment and development of Know How for cost calculation and cost evaluation methods to prepare and implement value engineering and design to cost planning from the procurement side.
• Identification of cost drivers, Benchmark with Cost Break Downs, Make or Buy evaluation.
• Implementation, maintenance and further development of calculation software and calculation models.
• Cross functional support (e.g. for development, manufacturing, purchasing) in cost activities incl. moderation of workshops (eg supplier workshop)

• Cost calculation for products and components in different commodities
• Set up of know How in cost calculation.
• Support of purchasing in costing activities
• Support of development/engineering in target costing
• Develop and maintain tool/SW for cost calculation.
  

Job requirement

Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics or finance. If you have relevant experience but are still in the process of completing your university correspondence education, you are still welcome to apply.  

• 5+ years of experience in cost engineering or a related field
• Good knowledge about manufacturing technologies for components and sub- assemblies
• Communication, team-oriented, analytical skills, moderation and negotiation
• MS-Office, SAP and other IT applications
• The daily routine language: English, so you have an advanced knowledge of English, both written and spoken
• Experience with cost estimating software and tools
